It was the season opener for the Ashland Eagles (DII) on the road against #21 Mercyhurst on Thursday, December 17. After a lengthy off-season and multiple delays the Eagles returned to the court for the first time in the 2020-2021 campaign. Sophomore Ethan Conley (2019 graduate of Franklin Monroe) finished with 14 points on 5-7 shooting from the field, 4-6 from the 3 point line. The host Lakers were able to turn an 11-0 second half run in to a win over the Eagles 73-59.
Conley logged 29 minutes, collected 4 rebounds and 1 assist to go along with his 14 points. Conley’s classmate Brandon Haraway led the Eagles with 17 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes. The Eagles are scheduled to return to play January 8 at Ferris State in their conference opener.
